Parents/Caregivers
The Heart Curriculum gives young people a shared way to talk about feelings, stress, and getting support. You do not need to teach the curriculum at home. Your role is to help make it easier for your child to use what they are learning.

What You’ll Learn
What Your Child Is Learning
Students are learning how to use reng, or heart, language to talk about their feelings, notice clues from their body, and practice healthy coping tools. They are also learning to care for and communicate with others, and to recognize when it is time to ask for help.
How You Can Help
You can support these skills through small, everyday conversations. Ask how your child’s heart feels. Listen before trying to solve the problem. Help them think about what might help next, and remind them that asking for support is okay.
Making It Easier to Talk About Support
Hard feelings are a normal part of life. Talking about them early can make it easier for young people to ask for support instead of feeling like they have to handle everything on their own.
